Our Story
With a legacy spanning over two millennia, Moutai’s origins trace back to 135 B.C., when the “Ju Jiang Jiu” produced in Moutai Town was esteemed as a tribute to the royal family. This rich heritage of continuous development and refinement culminated in Moutai receiving the gold medal at the Panama World Expo in 1915. Today, by harmonising ancient traditional techniques with modern technology, Moutai has solidified its position as the world’s premier distilled spirits brand.
Moutai’s storied history is marked by the amalgamation of several distilleries in the early 1950s, leading to the formation of the modern Kweichow Moutai company.
